Why oh Why is this information not written in the user manual or written as part of the sales pitch for these cutters.īuy our cutter because it WILL NOT WORK if you have something big to cut.Yes it is 24" wide but dont be fooled!!! it will not cut that big.

Thats all well and good but surly it should be supplied with the machine? I have ordered a serial cable that fits the laptop from amazon it will arrive in the morning so will give it a shot.

Anyhow, make sure the usb to serial adaptor which you buy supports ftdi chipset, and not prolofic chipset. Quite impressed that you managed to do a research first. Yes, all you need is a usb to serial converter for your laptop. I will wait with anticipation and will report back with the solution if there is one. cbta2b Posts: 5 Joined:, 13:02Ĭbta2b wrote::x I have had the SC631E cutter for a couple of months now but due to being in hospital for most of the time I have not used it much until last night. Have contacted the supplier of the cutter and am still awaiting a response.Anyone else have this issue? And did anyone get it 100% sorted? Ok the 9 pin male bit fits into the machine but all the laptops I have do not have 9 pin they have 15 pin female. So reached for the serial cable that comes with the machine and found 9 pin male to 9 pin female. So read a few forums and the cutting stopping 2/3rds of the way down the job may be something to do with the usb and you are advised to use the serial cable instead. Swithed it back on after canceling the job and tried the same cut again and it did it again.

So I got my roll of paper and tried again with the pen to save on money. This time 2/3rds of the way down the stencil vector the cutter went Doolally and the LCD (all writing) flashed then the actual pen in its holder returned to the start position started moving up and down in quick succession so I quickly switch the cutter off. Tried cutting a vinyl decal, this time 2/3 of the way down the cutter moved over to the left about 5 mm so the decal was messed up. Started cutting a stencil using Mylar on a cutting mat signcut pro but 2/3 using of the way down the stencil it cut a line through the middle of the stencil and stopped as if it had finished i.e. I have had the SC631E cutter for a couple of months now but due to being in hospital for most of the time I have not used it much until last night.
